About
Ryan was born (late, of course!) on Anzac Day.. a fact of which he was very proud.. I’m sure you all noticed the Australian Made tattoo on his wrist… As a kid, I think it was the fact that he got a holiday for his birthday every year that made it special, but I made him pay his dues… we went to the dawn service before he could open any presents for years!
We had so much fun through those early years .. he taught me how to play.. and he never stopped! One rainy day, driving past a park where we always had to stand in line for the swings, he noticed there was nobody there…. so we went home, got our raincoats and boots on… after that, every time it rained we went back to the empty park and played on those swings till my arms ached. Then we’d go home and have a long hot bath/shower and laugh about how silly everybody else was!
This is quoted from a message I received - I think it sums up what a lot of people felt about Ryan:
“I cannot remember Ryan being angry …he just never really came across that way.. sounds cliched – happy go lucky, but i think that’s how i see it. I liked his honesty. He didn’t bullshit, and he bounced, do you know what i mean? like, lightly, even if the boys were telling me a story that was something that pissed em off, Ryan still injected that lightness. I will never forget Ryan. I never knew how far Ryan stretched, he always just seemed to be a part of our family but it is quite evident he was that to many people.”
